Jim Cline – Guitar
In my 20s, I was heavily influenced by artists such as George Jones, Marty Robbins, and Merle Haggard. I started playing bass guitar with a country band called United Sounds, and after ten years, I got into rock and roll. My influences at that time were the Rolling Stones, Eagles, Santana, and CCR, but my heart remained in old country music. I then played lead guitar full-time professionally in a fantastic band called Cook County. We played some original songs but mostly top-40 rock. I grew up in Indiana and began studying piano at the age of 5. After years of classical training, I discovered a whole world of different musical genres. I’ve enjoyed playing rock, classic rock, country, contemporary jazz, blues and R & B. After a 20 year Air Force career, where I toured with an Air Force entertainment band called Tops In Blue, I owned a small business in Denver. But I always had music as a side hustle. I’ve been fortunate to share the stage with many national acts, played on a Caribbean cruise and toured Europe with a blues band. I moved to Tennessee with my wife in 2023 and love it here. I’m blessed and grateful to share my talents with the Escape Band.
