I was born in northwest Indiana and started playing professionally at the age of 12. I have played all styles of music and loved it all but tend to migrate toward contemporary jazz. I have played in every size venue from small clubs where I had to set up in a bay window to the RCA dome in Indianapolis. l moved to Tennessee in 2007. Since living in the Nashville area my primary focus has been on praise and worship music. I have worked with various praise and worship teams, helping them with the necessary tools they need to advance their worship and develop their own sound. I love playing music. Music is very emotional to me. I am very passionate about laying down that right groove for that right song at that right time. There is nothing like locking in the groove so tight that it just feels right and everyone knows it. I believe that my job is to lay the foundation for the song. I am looking for a place to fit in where I can use my gifting the way that I am supposed to. My style of playing is influenced by Gino Vannelli, Steely Dan, Yes, Boney James, David Benoit, David Sanborn, Greg Karaukas, Dave Koz, and many more.

I have played in bands that opened for artists such as Vern Gosden, Freddie Fender, Marty Haggard, and Billy Jo Royal. In 2023, I joined Escape Band TN and I enjoy every minute of playing with such talented musicians who truly feel like family to me.

Greetings! Jeff Barnes here aka “Bodine” I have been playing music for years and have shared the stage with some great and talented artists. I play several instruments (guitar, drums, and bass) my forte is playing the bass, the bass deeply connects to the rhythm and flow of music, especially with the drummer to lock in and create those tight grooves. It’s a great feeling to be part of such a talented group, The Escape Band. Keep Rockin!

In my 20s, I was heavily influenced by artists such as George Jones, Marty Robbins, and Merle Haggard. I started playing bass guitar with a country band called United Sounds, and after ten years, I got into rock and roll. My influences at that time were the Rolling Stones, Eagles, Santana, and CCR, but my heart remained in old country music. I then played lead guitar full-time professionally in a fantastic band called Cook County. We played some original songs but mostly top-40 rock. I joined Escape in early 2014 and feel fortunate to work with this incredibly talented group of music lovers. We cover a wide range of genres to cater to everyone’s love of music.

I was born in the suburbs of Detroit City and my family roots are from Eastern Kentucky. I moved to Culleoka, TN in 1992. I have been singing for as long as I can remember. My family says that I started singing as soon as I learned to talk. I love my husband Chris and my beautiful children and grandchildren with all of my heart. I am an animal fanatic which I feel makes my life even fuller. Life came at me pretty fast and I had to take care of my family before pursuing my dreams. I am now at a time in my life that I can do this!! I am thankful every day that I am blessed with this opportunity with the greatest group of talented musicians ever… My favorite music genre will always be rock and roll but I love so many different styles of music from rock, country, R&B, and Motown. I could be jamming to an old Montrose song one minute and be happy listening to some Merle Haggard the next.
